For the third Organizational Leadership Series of the fall 2020 term, the Mark Initiative welcomed Ritva Sotamaa, Chief Legal Officer and Group Secretary of Unilever, the British-Dutch multinational consumer goods company, headquartered in London, United Kingdom and Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Unilever owns over 400 brands including Lipton, Hellmann’s, Knorr, Magnum, Dove, Axe, Dollar Shave Club and Ben & Jerry’s. From London, Ms. Sotamaa shared her experiences as the international chief legal officer of a dual-listed company and the ways in which her leadership has shaped its global culture. Among other topics, Ms. Sotamaa spoke about her career that has spanned numerous countries, including the US, and the impact of the current global health crisis across the many brands of the consumer goods company.
