Reuben Mark Initiative Announces Spring 2024 Leader-in-Residence

The Reuben Mark Initiative for Organizational Character and Leadership at Columbia Law School will welcome one experienced Leader-in-Residence for the Fall 2022 semester. The Mark Initiative’s Leader-in-Residence Program hosts executives from multinational corporations, leading law firms, and key government agencies who have first-hand experience with the challenges of building organizational policies and practices premised on ethical values and optimal work environments. The Leaders-in-Residence teach classes, advise students, and participate in programming at Columbia.

Mike Ullman

Mike Ullman— Beginning in February and going until March, Mike Ullman will be the Reuben Mark Initiative's Leader-in-Residence and will teach a course centered on the Role of the General Counsel. 

Michael H. Ullman was the Executive Vice President, General Counsel of Johnson & Johnson, and a member of the Company’s Executive Committee. He had worldwide responsibility for Legal, Government Affairs & Policy, Privacy, Global Security, Global Brand Protection, Aviation, and Health Care Compliance.
   
Before assuming his former position in 2012, Mike served as General Counsel of the Worldwide Medical Devices Group for six years. Mike joined Johnson & Johnson as a mergers and acquisitions attorney in 1989 and held various management positions in the Company’s Law Department from 1999 until he retired in 2022.
   
Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Mike practiced law in New York City. He graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University, College of Arts & Sciences, and earned his law degree from Columbia University School of Law.
   
Mike is a member of the Board of Directors of Americares, the Board of Trustees for the Princeton Area Community Foundation and serves on the Columbia Law School Board of Visitors.
